The play stages the events linked to the Roman prefect Placido, who carried out the death sentence by beheading, alongside a delegation of the Roman Senate, on Abondi, or son of Prefect Placido and first follower of Saint Valentine, who led him to martyrdom. In addition, they will also recall Sabino and Seraphia who will be protagonists especially in the final part of the performance. All freely drawn from the "Melodrama Saint Valentine" by Antonio Cecchini written on the occasion of the translation of the Saint's body.
