Lake Piediluco is Umbria’s second lake after Lake Trasimeno; on its shores lies the village of Piediluco. The lake is located at an altitude of 375 meters, with a maximum depth recorded at 19 meters. It is fed by the Velino River and is connected to the Nera River through the Marmore Waterfall.
Around it stretches the typical Umbrian landscape made up of ancient villages in the distance and ever-green hills. Here is the headquarters of the Italian Rowing Federation, named after Paolo D'Aloja, who gave a strong boost to the creation of the Piediluco Nautical Center.
On Lake Piediluco many sports are practiced, from sailing to water skiing, from canoe trips to surfing. In the village there are many restaurants with local dishes, night spots, and a steady stroll along the main street of Piediluco. It is also possible to walk the entire north-east shore along a path on its banks that links the lake’s many main beaches.
