To the Basilica of Saint Valentine in Terni every year thousands of letters and postcards arrive, addressed to Saint Valentine in which the faithful all over the world ask the Saint for protection and help, regarding problems linked to love for the beloved person, for the family, the children, loved ones far from home, and protection for the sick.
Each letter is filled with devotion and hope that the Discalced Carmelite Friars, guardians of the Sacred Body of Saint Valentine, gather and keep them, offering them to Saint Valentine through prayer so that he may grant the wishes and hopes of the millions of devotees spread all over the world.
In addition to letters and postcards on paper, the Basilica also receives letters in electronic format (e-mail), sent by the faithful from all over the world, which are collected directly by the Discalced Carmelite Friars of the Basilica of Saint Valentine.
