The remains of Saint Valentine are found in Terni in the Basilica dedicated to him and the secular custodians of the Sanctuary and of the Sacred Spoglie are the Discalced Carmelite Friars, who have continuously guarded the Sanctuary from 1606 to 1866 and then from 1906 until today.

Since July 2011 the Discalced Carmelites of the Carmelite Province of Manjummel (Kerala, India), which belongs to the Roman Catholic Church (Latin Rite), have replaced the Roman Province who take care of this beautiful Shrine and Basilica offering various itineraries for deepen the Valentinian spirituality.

 

Over the course of the year, tens of thousands of people visit this sacred place.
